msoPHATS has just been advised of fake msoPHATS being sold online and through retail outlets. Some will even have the msoPHATS label (see above pic) sewn into them.
The only way you can legally buy new msoPHATS is by direct contact with me personally, via a series of emails and paypal transactions.
I have the list of all legitimate customers, so they do not need to worry.
But if you have purchased a pair of new msoPHATS from anyone other than me directly, you have bought fake msoPHATS.
If you are concerned about this, please get in touch with me
msoPHATS is considering legal action against those making and selling fake msoPHATS.
UPDATE 24 April 2010
msoPHATS formally announces the termination of a business contract with Alternate Gear (Sydney) www.alternategear.com.au who have until today been making msoPHATS.
Alternate Gear have been ripping off not only msoPHATS but other phats designers.
UPDATE 25 April 2010
msoPHATS has received complaints from Alternate Gear customers regarding ‘knock-offs’.
Alternate Gear customers who have already paid money or placed orders with Alternate Gear, who want protection or assistance are advised to immediately report Alternate Gear or whoever sold you the phats, to the ACCC - The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
They are an independent Australian statutory authority formed in 1995 to administer the Trade Practices Act 1974.
---------
Fashion industry design thefts, ‘knock-offs’, are a billion dollar pirating black market that robs legitimate artists and designers of their fair pay and creative product.
A counterfeit (knock-off) is an imitation, usually one that is made with the intent of fraudulently passing it off as genuine. Counterfeit products are often produced with the intent to take advantage of the established worth of the imitated product.

Even if you are from outside of Australia, you can still report this to the ACCC. The ACCC also works with other countries authorities to stamp out these frauds.
REPORT DIRECT TO THE TRADE POLICE:
